Launching ceremony "Vietnam Inclusive Innovation project"

 On July 11, 2013, in the headquarters of the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), No. 6B Hoang Dieu Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, MPI lauching Ceremony " Vietnam Inclusive Innovation project " funded by the World Bank support to the Government of Vietnam (VIIP).

Addressing the launching ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, Head of the Project Steering Committee; Mr. Bui Quang Vinh - Minister of Planning and Investment; Nguyen Huy Dong - Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment; members of the Project Steering Committee; World Bank representatives, ministers, a research institute, universities, commercial banks, businesses representatives.

The US$55 million five – year – project (2013- 2018), aims to support research and development institutions and businesses in improving their capabilities in receiving, upgrading, developing, completing and commercializing new technologies, in order to create services and products which are accessible and reasonable to the public, particularly the poor and low-income people.
According to MPI Minister Bui Quang Vinh Vietnamese businesses, and particularly SMEs, play a crucial role in creating jobs, increasing workers’ incomes, and driving economic development.

“There is a limited number of scientists and experts and most technologies used by Vietnamese enterprises are outdated. This project will tackle these problems and create meaningful, helpful solutions,” Mr. Bui Quang Vinh said at the project’s launch ceremony.

Representing businesses of Science and Technology, Mr. Nguyen Trung Dung - BK-Holdings deputy director, said: "Vietnam Inclusive Innovation project is an opportunity for researchers and businesses put into successfully the available technology as well as new technologies for affordable, environmentally friendly suit the needs of low-income people. This is not just an opportunity for the BK-Holdings but also an opportunity for scientists, researchers that BK-Holdings is representative recognized the technological innovation and provide the scientific products its a real “.

The project  will focus on three priority areas that strongly impact communities – traditional medicine and pharmaceuticals, information technology and communications, and agriculture-aquaculture. Direct beneficiaries of the project are: (i) Research and Development Institute (RDI) join the field of technological innovation, individual initiative technological innovation at grassroots level; (ii) Enterprises engaged applications, upgrading and technological innovation; (iii) The Government agency policymaking enterprise development and technology innovation policy
